Xiaomi Phone 2 Specs, Price, And Release Date Finally Revealed

Apple and Samsung are still having a hard time in conquering the Chinese market, and this is mainly because of companies that offer cheaper smartphones. The latest in a long series is the Xiaomi Phone 2, the next-generation Xiaomi Phone introduced last year.
The new smartphone is packing some impressive specs that make it one of the best devices on the market as it features a 4.3-inch 720p HD IPS touchscreen, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, built-in 16GB flash storage, 2-megapixel camera in the front, and 8-megapixel rear camera that is capable of shooting HD videos and of taking amazing photos.
Another reason for the Chinese people to buy a Xiaomi Phone 2 is the 2,000mAh battery that will give you a lot of juice to play games, take a lot of photos, and use your favorite apps without stopping. And if that’s not enough for them, then there’s a 3,000mAh battery that is available for this smartphone. However, this will add about 2mm in thickness, and the phone will not look as gorgeous as before.
The Xiaomi Phone 2 is running on a MIUI custom ROM that is based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and which offers some interesting features like phone finder, improved security measures, themes, free 5GB of cloud storage, and a Chinese voice assistant.
Most people would think that this phone will be really expensive, however, it will be available for only ¥1,999 or $310 this October. What’s more, China Unicom and China Telecom will carry the Xiaomi Phone 2 and they’ll be offering it at discounted prices.
According to co-founder Lei Jun, the Xiaomi Phone 2′s manufacturing costs stand at ¥2,350 or $370 per unit so the company will not gain anything at the beginning, however, the costs are expected to go down in the following months.
